S.A.Lab Samson Solid State is twin-brother of our tube Samson. 1000 W monoblock has really limitless dynamics and amazing, highly precise and live sound similar to that of his namesake.
S.A.Lab Samson Solid State is twin-brother of our tube Samson. 1000 W monoblock has really limitless dynamics and amazing, highly precise and live sound similar to that of his namesake.
We developed our Samson SS for a whole year for solving many complicated tasks, performing experiments and selecting optimal materials and parts.
As a result, we created the amplifier that demonstrates the best audiophile sound and all the solid state advantages including superb dynamics and high damping factor.
Samson SS consists of single-end solid state driver and powerful output repeater without global negative feedback. Results are true and pliant sound resembling that of S.A.Lab tube amplifiers let alone all the solid state advantages.
The driver with high output voltage of 100 V has very complex regulated power supply +\- 160 V using expensive high voltage JFETs.
Push-pull repeater with high quiescent current (5 А) and regulated power supply required for optimal cooling of both repeater and stabilizer. That was done by means of massive heat sinks and controller operated noiseless fans those are activated after transistors' temperature exceeds 40 degrees.
Samson SS has both unbalanced and balanced power supplying (rear toggle switch). For the latter the best Samson SS partner is huge Samson separate power supply.
Samson SS operates in Class A up to 100 W and further in Class AB for full 1200 W output power. There is no global negative feedback.
Line inputs are unbalanced and balanced. Samson SS has trigger input and three pairs of high quality acoustic binding posts for low, mid and high frequency bands.
